Went to a favorite local spot near a creek and home-site. The ground was still nearly frozen, but managed
to find two mercs (both 1941) on the old buggy path. My wife disappeared into the woods without a
detector, armed only with a "scratcher tool ", and returned to the path a while later with a handful of old
forks and knives she found near the bottle dump.( after a rough cleaning in ACV they appear to be pewter).
She has a knack for spotting oddities by eye alone.

Before leaving, found an old plain buckle about 1 1/2" square, and made of iron. (sorry no pic)
Could be horse-tack related, not sure. Don't care, really, It's always a good day when I find a buckle!
