Didn't find much this weekend but did get out. The first dig I managed to find a well from the 1700's. We didn't get to the bottom of it so here's a question for all the privy diggers on here. Would you finish it? We made it about 7 foot down before the rocks became too much.

Today, I managed to convince to wife to get out this afternoon and do some sifting.its a construction site so time is limited. Some nice pottery came to light and one confederate gardener. Thanks for looking

Awesome. Too bad time is so limited. You could probably find something great around there!

Problem with wells. At least around here is that they are dug between 8-12' DEEPER than the water table. Once you start getting water in the hole youve just begun. then youll need a POWERFUL pump to pull water out faster than it comes in to get to the bottom. who know what lies at the bottom though! Never attempted one even though ive thought about it. Just nned to have the gear and man power!

Good job sifting that stuff out. Hate it when they pave it over!

Just be careful in that well. What is that strapped to your leg in your avatar?
