No gold or silver yet, but it can't be too far away. This is from today, after about 45 minutes of hunting:

finds.jpg button 1.jpg

Any ideas about the button? It has writing on it but I can't see exactly what it says. The shaft broke off in my hand when I took it out of the hole, it's there next to it in the first pic.

I'm also not sure what the iron thing is. This farm field was really quiet, so I had the iron audio turned on and I was digging a lot of the consistent iron signals.

EDIT: As it dried I kinda thought part of the word is "-forged", but I can't see precisely what the first 3 letters are.

On an unrelated note, I found this on Tuesday at a different former local farm site. Pretty sure it's an old makeup compact, but I don't want to open it and risk breaking it.

Im sure if you get a microscope or try too read the word on the button better you will be able to find out, i'm having a hard time trying too make it all out. It may be a clothing manufactures logo or a work coat/jacket button with a company name on the button..

Yeah, the fourth letter kind of looks like a stylized needle with thread, and looks to be either a B, F, or L in script. Now my girlfriend is obsessed with solving it too!

There was nothing in the makeup compact except old makeup and broken mirror glass.

Nope. I'll grab it on my lunch break and check it under the microscope here at work this afternoon.

Your button says "Sanforized". Something to do with processing denim jeans.

Found several like that and they looked to me like overall buttons. May not be but thats what a buddy and I thought they came from. Found them on farmland as well. Good finds.
