Interesting only because of where I live. I'm rural but definitely not in the country. It was 11-1/2" down. Just opened my new Garrett pinpointer. Works perfect and I can tell I'm going to love it.
Hope someone can tell me if this is an actual "horseshoe" or a decoration of some kind. Had what appears to be nails? on the left side.

Yes it is for sure a real horseshoe. The nails were used to hold the shoe on. They actually nailed the shoes to the horse's hoofs.

I'm with ya, i started with a knock off pin pointer that worked but not well.
tight budget personally so th $130 for the garrett left my pocket with a fight but after working with the pin pointer it was worth it! and I think of it almost as important as the md itself.

Don't they still do this? Been awhile since I've been around this type stuff.

yes its a horse shoe and a cool find, it reminds us that cars have not always been around,,,lol
they had to use horses or oxen for transportation , freight and even fire department used horses .

For good luck, position your horseshoe with the open end facing upwards, keeps good luck in! I'd say you had both persistence & good luck to find it! HH Andi
