This is 5 days worth of finds.......lol. Sun, tues, wed, thur and friday. 17 hours of hunt time, been rough at my sites, Just can't get my coil over silver to save my life. Hunted several fields, few farm houses, and couple houses in town.
Hopefully my silver slump will come to an end SOON!!!!!

Got a pair of 2 piece buttons and I can't find much info on the backmark, Leavenworth Extra.....any help would be appreciated. The little white button appears to be enameled, no idea on that one either. Picked up pile of wheats not shown, one lone 1907 injun, and my only real good keeper was the 1859 Canadian LC found last night, the 2nd year coins were minted in Canada. Looks like there is a bunch of varieties of the 1859 LC can anyone help me deciding which one it is? It looks like the LOW 9 variety to me, what's your opinion?

Nice condition on you Keeper.

Good clear pics. too, but can you get a "digital zoom" of right in on the "59"

Like this (keep in mind my recent '59 is crappy comparred to yours) The best varieties are wide 9 over 8, and double punched narrow 9 #1, and #2.

Excellent pic. G4E

Definitely not W9 over 8 or the double punched.

But a nice corrosion free example. (if only all coppers could be so nice)
do you think it is the "low" 9

do you think it is the "low" 9

You have it in your hand it will be easier for you to tell, the "9" should be lower by about the width of the tail of the "9".

Here are some real good pictures for you to compare to. (scroll down a bit on this page)

1859 Varieties - The King of Canadian Varieties

No doubt the most recognized are pics. 3,4, and the 9 over 8 types.

I really think you need to adjust something if you want to get over silver again. Your perspective. Five days and only ONE keeper!?!?!

If the hunt is a bust simply because nothing silver came out, then, you will be trying too hard to make that happen!

Relax! Try just going with the attitude of "let's see what comes our way.....today!". Let the coil go where it wants to and guess what, silver will be shining up at you from the bottom of a hole. I know this because, for the longest time, every hole I dug, if I flipped open the plug and no silver, I always said, Nope, nothing shining up at me. So, let's find this zincoln, pull tab, can slaw and move on. :)

When I finally stopped LOOKING for the silver, it started coming up.

As I see it, everything you've posted, are "keepers".

Good job!
HH!
