Awesome, I am jealous. By the way, how did you get such a perfect round hole? I need whatever tool you are using.

Nice finds Merf!!! ;) Also, thanks for the website RR, I found a couple Winchester 12 gauge headstamps a couple days ago. It was neat to have a place to look up the info about them. :D

WTG Merf....excellent find. I am curious about your tool also. That plug is perfectly round. How deep of a plug can you get? Please let us know. I need one of them!! Again....Kudos on the coin.

Thanks to all, I have had a couple of lucky days. Here is a picture of my plugging tool.
It was made for me by a sheet metal worker. It will take out a 6 inch plug, 3 inches in diameter.
The plug with the Barber is about a 4 inch plug. Good hunting

It looks better cleaned up. I have some padding taped on the handles.

Great find! Check the mint mark on that quater!
G-4 condition for a 1901 Barber Quater could be worth around $9, 1901-O around $45, and if the metal detector Gods were with you, and that happens to be a 1901-S it could worth around $6000! NO KIDDING!

Thanks for the info Rush. It has no mintmark. I am still looking forward to finding a valuable coin.
I will sell it and buy a couple of high end detectors. Good hunting.

Great find Merf, I have one of those hole pluggers around here some place. I used to use it, but when I took the
plug out and the coin was still in the hole, I had to use a flashlight to see the coin. Great too, but kinda heavy to carry.
