Two Hunt Spots, Two Gold. First Gold And Silver Ring.

Everyting went great for me yesterday. I hunted two different parks, one that I have never hunted but have been eyeballing for some time. The park is in LA. Almost all of LA's parks that have sand are raked at least weekly. If the park has deep sand the workers miss a lot but they find a lot too. The ring came from an LA park that has deep sand.

The marks on the inside of ring are worn badly but I think I can make out 18k and 950. The ring must be 950 silver and the 5 beads on the ring must be 18k rose gold.

The park that I found the 14k Cupid at is on my regular circuit and has coughed up 5 gold finds in the pass 2 1/2 years.

    Thanks guys.

Aaaaaaaaaa, and thanks for pointing out that it's an Angle, not Cupid. Da, after you wrote that I took a closer look and I don's see a bow and arrow=no Cupid.

That ring is too big to be a kids ring, it would fit a lady. The red arrow points to the spot, the baby swing area (overlooked by lots). You would be supprised at who hangs out in the play area at night, teens, young adults (lovers), homeless, husbands in the dog house (jk), and just people down on luck.

If it says .095 and 18k both does it mean it is sterling plated with gold? Monty

Great finds... I think the 950 would signify platinum possibly,
makes sense with the high gold content (18kt) because it is
unlikely they would put silver with that. Awesome ring! Congrats!

Re: Two Hunt Spots, Two Gold. First Gold And Silver Ring.

Naw, thatís not Platinum (I wish). I used silver cream and it turned the cloth black but I canít get the gold beads to transfer a color (GOLD). You find Antique silver of a purity of .950 but others still use it.
The information I'm posted below is quoted form:
    http://www.silvermexico.co.uk/silver_quality.htm
Pure silver, like pure gold, is too soft to be practical and is usually alloyed. Most commonly copper is used since it greatly toughens the alloy without detracting from the bright shine characteristic of silver.
Silver, by law, MUST be stamped. Sterling Silver is always stamped .925 (in the U.K. this number is incorporated in a hallmark)
Sterling is the alloy most commonly used in silversmithing. The product consists of 925 parts of silver per thousand. Hence the worldwide use of '.925' as mark of purity.
Our company supplies .925 Sterling and Silver of a higher purity - .950, which was, in days gone by known as 'Mexican Silver'. In the U.K. this is roughly equivalent to the purer 'Britannia Silver'.
    Thanks everyone.
    HH
