Normally dirt roads are very hard to dig in and require a pick because its hard to get passed all the compressed rocks that are together.... :BangHead:
Otherwise just detect as I normally would in any lawn or field... Lots of road trash, so it can be tricky... :icon_scratch:
Fortunately they just regraded the road and digging was very easy, I could use a shovel this time. :hello2:

Thanks again everyone !!

What a cool idea I never thought about it. How do you pinpoint where on the road to detect?

If I understand you correctly, you can find things anywhere in the road... The roads are *basically* the same as they were 150 years ago... People walked on them all over along with wagons and horses, then later cars. You have a better chance finding things if you have cellar holes or old school house and stuff in the area.... The closer to the those things you can get the better the results.. If I don't understand you then, just pinpoint like you normally would.

Keep @ it and HH !!

Nice job.. And that's not easy hunting ... On packed dirt roads. I tried it in PA and could only manage to flick a few rocks with a shovel before I gave up.

Haha, that was my first attempt a few years ago... I did not let that stop me. Went back and got a pick, works great.... Again, they just regraded the road this time so digging was easy. Me my and a few other treasure hunters I know have all found coppers. I think a few have found silvers in the roads... I've never found a silver in the roads but I know a few people who have... Its worth the effort, if you just keep @ it and hunt like your normally would... Lots of trash sometimes but that's part of the game....

Thank you some more everyone !!
Keep @ it and HH !!
