Big biters and roast rabbit"YANKEE CREEK PART 2"

Hi all,Rain gone and only had a few little showers today.I went for a drive out too a mine and farm settlement called Yankee Creek. If you havenot read the whole story it can be found at this link

        http://forum.treasurenet.com/index/topic,65325.0html

Well today in got into a grove of tree along the creek and found evidence of a old cook house. The only trouble was first, most of what was left was under a big pepper-corn tree, buried under the roots and second a large nest of Black Bull-ants had made their home under the tree. These ants can grow to about 3/4 inch long and bite like hell.Trust me it feels like you lost a half a pound of skin when get bitten. If you stir them up they come out by the hundreds and move a reasonable pass and best to retreat fast. :P :P :P

I did find interesting collection of relics,12 gauge primer, pottery lid, cermic jar lid, some brassy bits and a rabbit trap [half off] a chemical bottle [embosed].Wool bale stencil {NO 2] and a one piece button. The button is quite ornate and i have no idea of its origan.

tinpan There's quite a few pics of finds and big biters and the button cleaned up.

Another great post - I get bitten by a bullant every five years or so on average - I can remember every time because they hurt like hell.
