I hit Logan yesterday and met Mike, Steve and Chris (the beep goes on). Had a good day on buttons with 5 - 2 large eagle, 1 medium eagle, a US 132 disc and an ILL. collar disc.
I returned today for a very short look in a different spot and found a large eagle in mint condition! My best by far!

Wow. Super great find. I can hardly wait till spring to start on my new hobby. I did use my son's metal detector and found this Chuckie Cheeze token dated 2001! I know it is junk but it is my first find! I am sooo bitten by this bug that I can hardly wait till my birthday and start hitting the woods in my area.

Sincerely,

Very nice button finds. The ground was really nice to some of them. Keep up that great work and thanks for sharing your finds.

I collect US militaria WWI - WWII and what you have there are some WWI tunic buttons and some collar devices. One would be Illinois national guard and one most likely a 132 regiment collar disc. Do the discs have a screw nut on the back?

Hey Matt-

Yes- The collar discs all have screws but no nut (I guess that's why they got lost!)
A quick count of what I have found there in buttons and discs is:
Discs: 1-ILL, 4-USNG, 3-US, 2- infantry- (132 and 6 regiment- Company S)
Eagle Buttons: 4 large, 6 medium and 8 small
Also small shirt buttons that say USA, 9 aluminum dog tags, 2 other IL aluminum ID tags.
