Eeeeha! Went out to a small secluded city park that was overgrown with grass. Had a target that was about 8 inches deep. When I first saw a section of the quarter, I thought it might be some kind of token. After digging it out, seeing the date 1899, and "United States of America", I knew I had my find of the day.
This is my first Barber quarter. Yes, I am excited!!!

BIG CONGRATS! :headbang::occasion18: I've been detecting 2 years & would be delighted to dig an 1899 Barber quarter! So far I haven't hit the 1800's though got a nice 1923 silver coin in good shape. If you don't want to use camera for posting pics, a scanner would do well with flat object like coin. Looking forward to seeing the Barber! HAVE FUN! Andi

Yup, finding something like that is worthy of a beer or 3. I have found 2 Barber Q's, one 1898 and one 1915S, and I remember exactly where I found each one of them!

Awesome!! I know how you feel, it seemingly took me forever to find my first Barber Quarter. I'd found many dimes, but the quarter really eluded me. Got three now. Congrats!!

Very nice, I'd be happy with any silver quarter this year let alone a barb. Congratz and hope more come your way!
