These are the artifacts I dug this week and last weekend on a property that was once a plantation site in Richmond County,Virginia (Northern Neck of Virginia) dating to the late 18th/late 19th C. There are slave graveyards on the property and a cemetery with graves dating from the 1814/1832/1860s,etc.

Civilian Dandy flat buttons, Civilian flower buttons and a bracelet.

I don't know exactly why, but, seeing relics coming back into light still fascinates me.

Nice saves!

Thanks.. Evolution and Dug.... Yah there is DEF more there. Only problem is i am only able too hunt the fields they just cut.. The rest of the property is wooden and covered in a-lot of vegetation! When winter comes around I will be able too hit the wooden areas and even dig a cellar hole out where the old plantation house once stood, but have too wait. I will surely be posting more finds from this spot but it is just civilian artifacts.. But you never know I may luck out and dig a two piece Silver Virginia button. They are known too pop up in the Northern Neck.

Better yet a George Washington Inaugural button would be great... I am about 15-20 miles from where George Washington mother lived in Lancaster,Virginia and from the research I found out that the Washington family visited this plantation probably to trade/buy or sell livestock/crops. So hopefully one will pop up but I don't know those are pretty rare.

That bracelet is amazing! Better than the buttons and most likely older.

I seem to recall that "Breezie" found something similar a few years back,
maybe she'll chime in with some additional thoughts.

Yes, that is not a normal bracelet. I would certainly take that/email a picture to someone with more knowledge on slave trade objects- it could very well be a banner find

Yeah, I agree with goldencoin, get that bracelet checked out......could be something really cool you have there! Actually, it is all pretty cool whether or not it has any monetary value! Look forward to seeing your future posts when you can hit the cellar hole!

Looks like an 18th C African slave bracelet, pretty rare I think!
