Throw it in a rock tumbler with pea gravel. Seriously, it will clean it right up. It's in terrible condition and I doubt any other method will get even decent results.

I'm sure everyone here will disagree with me, but I think many people don't realize just how much detail that can bring out of a "destroyed" coin. Not like it's worth anything at this point anyway.

I think I'm seeing a date of 18?? I'm seeing what appears to be the reverse of a Capped Bust half ! The eagle head is visible , as is
the scroll/ banner -with " e pluribus unum" Don't subject this to any harsh cleaning until you get this checked out ! Can any of
you other guys and gals see what I'm seeing here ? Turn the last picture that shows the large coin, a quarter turn clockwise and
you
can clearly see the eagle head and the ribbon /banner ! Ruslanmd - do you see this also ?

I realize that this coin looks to be something other than silver - (early counterfeit ? , pattern ?, token ???)

Yes! I can see the date now!1813! Olive oil work. I think in 2 or 3 days coin will be clean. I'll post pictures after I'll be done with it.

I found some stuff in a crawlspace like that..only it was fairly dry and a lot of bottles still had (partial) labels on them....this crawlspace must be fairly damp..........Id get down there with a sifter(!)

This house have basement and crawl space. It's dry now but it's getting flooded sometimes. It will be interesting to excavate it all but it is not possible for now

The 1813 50 c coin still in cleaning. I got most of the build up off . It's a beauty. Lemon juice and cotton balls work the best. Now it's bathing in olive oil while I am away from home
