great hunt 1rst target 1883 seated dime deep too, at least 10"! also got a 1863 token at least a foot down, in trash! got a 1900 injun and some keepers......I hunted this spot at least 3 times with at pro, the at gold is such a better machine in trash, I love it! also need help to i.d. brass lock? not sure what it is, it reads.......patent 1fp aout 1865, brd stz 4920, R. NEUMANN & C, thanx for looking

R. Neumann & Co. is still around in Hoboken, NJ or at least their sign still is. I see it when I take the train in. "1fp Aout" is "1st August" in French and I believe Brd St is an abbreviation for "Broad Street."

1865 Patent! I will watch this to see what it turns out to be. Have you 'over' cleaned it, its very shiney? I have a hard time deciding if its silver or not?

I realise that what I may say might upset some on here, as I understand its yours to do with what ever you please. So I will put it as best I can; please don't take the patina off of any item 'before' you know what it is. This could have been an extremely rare find & we (purist) all would have cried because nothing but another 100 years in the same ground conditions can create what you had. Enjoy the green, please, well at least until you know its historially worthless. Thanks for thinking about it next time.
