Today was the first Barley field to be harvested, its about a week late. Before we got in the way of the combine, we detected a nearby failed crop field for 1 hour & had a couple of buttons.

Then we did 1.5 hours on the barley stubble, sadly out of the 3 barley field he could have done first, this is the worst:

1 Scrappy
Buttons
Bag seal
End of a riding crop (fox design)
Georgian Pan Weight - best find of the short hunt8-)

UPDATE:

I've narrowed down the date of the Weight:
'IMPERIAL STANDARD, is most commonly found on weights made fairly shortly after the 1826 Act.'
As we have a Crown over GR, it only leaves 1 option - George IV.
Therefore it has to be made in 1826-1830.

This is a pan/trade weight, similar to the kitchen weights. These were verifed by countermarks if they were to be used by a business to sell/weigh goods.

Great find on the pan weight, one of the first things I ever dug when I started metal detecting was one of those. It took some time for me to ID it. I am glad I didn't just through it out thinking it was trash.:tongue3:
Its nice that you can put such a narrow date to it.

Nice finds, I can't see what you recover in the other 2 fields once they are harvested.
