Unusual find in a Michigan yard!

I got permission to search a friend's 1929 home with my dad so we spent 2-3 hours searching about half the yard before we had to leave because he forgot his medicine.

My dad found 2 wheats and some clad. I found 3 wheats and a really interesting find...a 1932 Indian quarter! I was told that there used to be orchards there, so my best guess is that a migrant worker might have worn it as a charm, hence the two drilled holes.

Neat find, imagine the stories that could tell about how it got there!

Might I ask how you clean your wheats? I'm still kinda new to detecting and I've been trying to clean em' up like that, so far just soaking them in warm water and following up with a soft toothbrush. Yours look great!

I agree with Joe1944. I wish my wheaties looked like that after pulling them out of the ground and cleaning them with soap and water :P.

Thanks for the comments everyone. For those wondering, I actually tumble all of my clad for 2 hours using a mixture of pea gravel, water, and a drop of dish soap!
