Obviously, a wonderful find!

Help me to understand something though. You said you saw some other hunters vids and "figured out where they were hunting". Then, you what, immediately went to their honey hole and dug up something they evidently missed or hadn't gotten to yet?

It's a wonderful find ! really though , the continuous thumb rubbing of the dirt over the surface of the coins is incomprehensible to me .

I seen this posted a while back and was curious myself. Around here you don't jump on someone else site. Definitely not any of mine.

It's Sweden, the great Socialist Mecca. They share everything. Music, Video's, Prescriptions, wife's and honey holes. No need to make comments about claim jumping.

I think you have to expect it, if you give enough clues on the net. This, I think, is not a site that needs permission so its a free for all, right?

Not saying I would do it, but then I don't need to. It only gets on my nerves, if they poach a spot that we have sole permission & they come on our spot without permission.

I haven't been doing this terribly long, only a few months, but I've worked hard to get permission to hunt this 1700's site I've been hitting on the weekends. When I was there on Saturday the woman who oversees the place asked where my "friend" was. She went on to explain that someone had been detecting it during the week and she assumed he was with me. I gotta say, I was pretty ticked that someone was hitting "my spot" and without permission. And now she's worried that random people are going to show up and start digging up the place. This doesn't sit well with me.

Not sure what your beef is, very double standard. Are you saying, that if you saw someone detecting a local park that anyone can detect, you would not detect it because he was their first. Sounds crazy to me, I know loads of you all detect the same spot. 70% of the US posts are free for all sites, are they not?

We are not talking about a site that needs permission, I to get mad at Night Hawks.

Well, that makes at least two of us who are confused. I don't see where anything I said meant that I had a "beef". Not too surprising though, as I already know that I've evidently lost the art of the written word. It's the only thing that explains how things come back to me from what I think I said. :dontknow:

I'll try again.
All I was asking is what he meant in his video, (you did watch it?). He said that he had watched a couple other detectorists vids on the tube and "figured out where they were hunting". Next thing he said was that he was hunting their spot and doing a much better job. I was just curious about the situation. Heck! For all I know they are, all3, friends and just playing oneupmanship. :dontknow:

I don't intentionally seek out a spot that someone else has figured out, even if it happens to be in a public park. But, that's just me. I know I can find wherever I go. I also would cast my lure next to someone else's if they were catching fish. I'm not the type to line up hip boot to hip boot trying to catch a fish. I also wouldn't hunt in front of someone hunting in the water just because they're there and I want first crack. But, again, that's just me.

I have no problem with tidetraveler and have complemented him on his vids before.

Maybe, it would be best if I just sat in my corner and stayed quiet. ;)

HH! Anyway! :)

No, say your will. We all know that the net is the place to state our own will.

My point is, as stated, if you have a place that anyone can detect or fish, go and do it.

This does not mean I do the same. Because I never follow the flock. But if those that want to tread in the foot steps of others, then crack on. Its their public right & no-one should worry otherwise.

Here in Sweden we are very limited as to where we are permitted to hunt due to the amount of treasure being protected. All permits are granted by the State. If you have permission then thats it. It's not first come stakes his claim like a selfish boy. And if you didn't notice in the video we are friends that detect together. Did you watch the video?

We can't clean coins, but nobody said we can't sandpaper them. ;) LOL

HH!
Most of the coins are only 40, 60 and rarely 80% silver. Rubbing them isn't going to hurt MY coins. They are MY coins and I'll clean them how I choose!

Yep, that's kinda what I figured. I do watch your videos. I complimented you in the past. This one, like I said above, I was just curious. I even watched dectectorprosweden's vid as you mentioned. I'm from the other side of the pond and as much, tend to get confused pretty easily.

I also mentioned, above, that for all I knew you guys were friends.
I saw that they came along later to hunt the same area but I didn't know if it was just a reaction to you being there and digging all the good stuff. :)

Now, ya see why I get confused how my words get interpreted? :)

Good job on the vid as always and again, an excellent hunt!

Well I don't know where "around here" is but around here hunting sites are very limited due to the laws protecting all the real treasure. If you have obtained permission from the State then it's yours and who ever else's who has that same permit. If you didn't notice in the video we are friends and we hunt together.

Here, here! That's my take on it too!

Ya know what this site REALLY needs? A tongue in cheek smiley. LOL
