Is this a old plumbob?

Found at a old farm site in doing looks like a plumbob weighs about 4 lbs made of lead .

Its a hanging scale counter weight. Used them alot to weigh bags of feed and bundles of crops. Look around there are probably more of various weights nearby, maybe even the old hanging scale itself.

Thanks I'm a carpenter so plum bob was first thought the wire hook fell off when I picked up. The farm was a produce farm and found where they tore down one of the barns. Thanks again

Agreed, we would call it a steelyard weight, same difference!

Yeppers same thing, there gotta be more near there. Relic honey hole!! Might find the scale itself that would be so neat! Then you could clean it up and have a really nice antique scale with weight,,, nice. Best of Luck.
