Hey guys, it's been a while. Summer's been busy, haven't gotten much time to get out and hunt, we got a new puppy and the cross country season started. But you guys aren't here to hear my rant, you're here for the good stuff!

I had some spare time this morning, so I decided to just go dig in a spot in my backyard that I haven't hit with the metal detector before. After digging a couple of holes, this guy popped out!

I came inside and washed it off, and it's still pretty shiny! It's definitely taken a beating, though. We shoot BB guns in our backyard, but never at coins. I'm guessing one of my brothers got bored and just hid the evidence. Regardless, I've never seen a coin that's been shot before. Just thought that it was kinda cool. Something tells me I won't be able to buy a gumball with it, though! :)

Thanks for takin' a peek, and Happy Hunting!

Hah, I guess so! I know that they can take out a squirrel with 10 pumps at 20 yards, so whoever shot this was probably up close and personal!

John, that's cool.

When I was about 12 (shooting my trusty Daisy pump in the front yard) my dad said he'd give me a half-dollar if I could hit it at 15 paces.
It only took one BB but I was sick when I saw the half dollar that I had just shot. . . a 1918-S Walker. . . which I still have.

I think one of your brothers is a crackshot with a .22. That quarter took something more than a BB!

I dunno, living in a highly liberal neighborhood, someone probably would have reported a shot. It's possible, but neither of them know where the keys to the gun safe are. They could have used pellets we have, but those are pretty well hidden. I'm starting to think neither of them did it. But then, who did? :dontknow:

Ouch. I imagine that would affect the value a bit. Neat story, though! :)
