So, this is the 3rd time @spaced45 and I have been to this house that was built in 1910 in downtown Bishopville, SC. It is unreal all the old coins we keep finding.

We started in the back yard because we had only been back there one time. Before we had found the 1827 capped bust dime so we had high hopes. Well, after a entire morning of hunting no old coins. Just found quite a bit of modern pennies, dimes and nickels. We did find the princess pat makeup case and that dome looking piece with the eagle/dragon? Any idea what that is? Also the small piece with the horizontal slit. Any ideas what that is?

We went back to the front yard before we left yesterday and it paid off yet again. The last 2 times we had hunted the first yard we had found most of the coins in the plastic sleeve shown below (those coins in plastic sleeve are are best coins we have found this year. not too bad :) ). Yesterday we actually found 3 coins in one hole! The barber dime, Indian head penny and the mercury dime. about 2 feet from that we found the Victory nickel. This front yard is not that big at all. Maybe 50 yards wide by 20 yards tall. It makes me wonder how all these old coins made it out there.

I did some research on the original owner/builder of the house and it was a prominent attorney. He built it in 1910/1911 and his wife lived there until the late 50s/early 60s. Then it changed hands about 6 times until the current owner purchased in 1989. I would love to know what was there before the house. Maybe that is why so many coins are out there. I found the property on the sanborn map from 1910 and it was shown as empty. the 1917 sanborn map shows the house. 1910 is the earliest i could find.

Anyways here are pics of our findings!

Oh, and the pocket watch was a pretty interesting find. We actually found the outer shell of it at my old plantation house that burned down and found the inner part of it about 1/2 a mile away at a shack on my property. Not sure if its a match but it fits almost perfect in each other. thought that was very odd to find in the same day.

I had a property that was dated around 1900 and I found about 250 coins on it!! most were wheaties but there were barbers and IH pennies and tons of other stuff. Hope you get to go back cause there is probably lots more where that came from!
