I still can't believe it ! I got a strong dime signal and expected to dig a dime but here was this beautiful little 6 petal sleigh bell ! I have researched all over and can't get really good info on the age. The big one was the first bell I found and last night the little one. The amazing thing is that THEY BOTH JINGLE :D
If anyone knows anything about sleigh bells I would love to know more about these. Thank you !

Hey WW. nice find. I like the bigger one best as they are harder to find not broken.
They are called crotal bells, and this site has about everything you would want to know about them.

Crotal bells - ukdfd

Generally speaking 1850's or earlier.

Really ? Wow, how cool is that ! Thank you so much :) I'll check out the site. I was on Classic Bellmakers which was very interesting but didn't give me an age to these. Thanks again, Rick ( Nova Scotia )

I found only one my first one a month ago and was so stoked only to find out....it was smooshed. I cleaned it out and no rings shaking it. Reminded me of the movie Polar Express when the bell no longer rings you no longer believe. Hope to someday find my bell that rings while MDing. Congratulations to you Woodswoman! I am jealous
