EARLY MILITIA PLATE WITH HOLES DRILLED ON EACH END??

buddy of mine just sent me this pic, friend of his dug it this morning, this is the only pic of it he sent me, i requested he get a pic of the back and send that along when he can. has 2 perfectly drilled holes on each end, looks like a pre civil war militia pattern on it to me but have not found an exact match as of yet, it was found in central virginia, any info will be greatly appreciated, thanks

The eagle looks pretty similar to early 1800 shako eagle hat pin

still waiting on a pic of the back, what i wrote is all i know about it as of now

That is the back of a drawer pull, and not a belt plate, it could be Federal Period, (early 1800's) or it could be a piece from the early 1900's. I'm not sure how to tell them apart.
