This morning I spent 4 hours or so hunting my colonial banner field (since y'all don't like the term "honey hole" :laughing7: ) and was rewarded with three buttons and a rosette. The buttons are 20mm, 13mm, and 12mm; the 12mm is thicker than the others and may have had lettering on the back at one time. (I'll check under the microscope on Monday.) The rosette was found in a trashy section of the field where nothing of note has been found until today. It's plated, and has a small pattern.

So then I went to another site that has history from the turn of the 20th century, where I'd previously found my first V nickel, a worn-smooth large cent, Barber half and SLQ. With exception to the LC, all coins dated between 1900-1912, until today. The first coin was a 1902 Barber dime in decent shape, then a slightly-bent IHC that turned out to be from 1889, a 1912 wheat, 1919 wheat, and 1919-D wheat.

Here they all are:

Now the dime and IHC:

And the rosette, which is in bad shape but the pattern is intact:

Lookin GOOD. The flat buttons indicate a pretty old site. Hope to see your next dime showing up as a seated. :icon_thumleft:

Woops, had to edit..... just realized who posted. You know all about that site's potential.

I wish! The only silver out of here so far are two worn out half reales from 1774 and 1789. Would be very nice to see some American silver that's a little older than a seated :)
