I don't even know where to begin! My buddy Phil and I got back onto the field where I've been hunting for the past month. It's a generational site and today certainly proved that! We started in a new area and Phil almost immediately found a piece to a sword guard. A couple minutes later he found another part of the guard. I commented to him that there is probably more and that I was going to find the pommel...and sure enough 3 feet from the other pieces I found the pommel! I am very pleased with that as it's a relic I've always wanted to find!

We decide to fan out looking for more and a couple minutes later I have old silver in the hole! It's a 1676 French 4 Sol! This is actually the second 1676 4 Sol I've found.

Found a lot of lead including a couple ingots and hogue cylindrical piece. Think they were making buttons at this site.

Near the end of the day we start making our way back to the car and within 30 feet I get a nice high silver tone. I pop the plug and there it is...big American silver! This is extremely rare in my area (Nova Scotia) and I could not believe the date! Amazing condition as well!!!

Oh man Romeo, you are killing it. What a day you had, big congrats on the 1676, 4 soles and colossal hunk of American Silver. You are indeed on a serious site there buddy, I can't wait to see what else comes out of there.
I have been laid up with a "Man Cold" this weekend so I have to revel in your finds today. Well done buddy.

Wow, two super coin finds, Bust half dollars are amongst the most beautiful coins minted in America. Yours is outstanding, my two were also, I believe a lot of them are like that due to not much circulation of them, people hoarded them for some reason back then. (I think :) )

I forgot to mention about your lead piece, I found a piece like that up your way on my last hunt in that area. I guess that the must have sold id in logs like that and the local General Store.

Here's a field pic from early in the hunt...glad it was Sunday because I would not be in that fog during a hunting day!

I guess your day was AWESOME! Great finds! The detail on the 1809 is unbelievable ! I wonder why so many of the good finds are made "on the way back to the car"? We need to put a name to that.

I guess I should mention that I was hunting with my CZ-6...I thought I would be losing depth with this machine but was digging deep targets all day! I've got to say, I'm debating on using the CZ-6 as my primary!

Are you running it in 4 leaf clover or rabbits foot mode?

Everything is just awesome, but the thing I find interesting is that huge chunk of lead. You said buttons, but I wonder if that's how you bought your lead for ammunition? You have definitely stolen some of the forum's thunder!
