It's got to be Karma

Today I got permission to hunt a 1920's property that was scheduled
for demolition. Within the first 15-minutes, I recovered a 1941 Merc and
a Wheat penny (covered in mud) which I tossed in the pill box for later
cleaning.

After digging a half-dozen copper nails that rang up as pennies,
I recovered what I "think" is some type of water meter cover in the back
yard. The embossed patent date on this was 1900. As I was hunting along
a flagstone walkway in the backyard, I got a nice signal under one of the
stones which turned out to be a 1905 IH. When the homeowner stoped by
later in the afternoon, he asked if I was having any luck. I showed him
what I found so far which he thought was pretty neat. I asked him if he
was interested in keeping any of my finds but he declined. I did, however,
talk him in to taking the 1905 IH, which he mentioned his brother might
like.

Anyway, I finished my hunt the front parkway and recovered a sterling ring,
which I was very pleased with. But the big surprise was that mud-encrusted
Wheat penny I had found earlier that day. When I got home, I cleaned
the Wheat penny and discovered it was a 1922-D. . . the best Wheat penny
I have ever found. . . and in great shape to boot!

I really do believe in Karma. Thanks for looking!

Great post and some sweet finds. Very nice of you to offer the homeowner some of the finds. That's the way it should be.

Talking about so close you can taste it. Only a D separated you from a humongous banner find. Nice wheatie, great hunt. Good Karma.

Nice finds! Awesome silver! Maybe his brother will have you search his property too, since you gave him the wheat cent!

Nice find, I'm still constantly looking through all my wheaties looking for good dates. Now I have to go through them all again, I swear I found a 1922. Ha
