Hello everyone! Well, I am glad I got out on December 1 & 2 because it has rained or been wet since then here in my part of Virginia. I got out and did some Civil War relic hunting with my Teknetics T2SE on the 1st and got some lead and a busted GS Eagle Button that exploded in my hand, oh well it is still a button lol. Went back out on a local hunt on the 2nd with the Etrac and found another mixed bag of goodies. My silver streak continues with my 1913 Barber and 1944 Merc dimes. Got another Large Cent but she is pretty toasted and is soaking in olive oil, pulled enough detail so far to tell it is a Matron Head. My best find (in my opinion) is the War of 1812 Artillery Corps One Piece Button. Another interesting button I found was the Two Piece Blackstone Military Academy Button whick cleaned up nice. It is from 1912 and the academy is about 120 miles from my house so it is interesting how it ended up in a small field by my house. My fellow Mid-Atlantic Relic & Coin Hunter friend, Wild Bill Pennock, found a nice 1876 Seated Liberty. All-in all it was a great two days of hunting relics in Virginia and the time frame of 1800-1950 was well represented! Thanks for looking and head over to Youtube to view the live action videos. HH!

Looks like ya'll had a great hunt ! To bad the eagle button gave out , sometimes what I do is put wax inside the toasted buttons especially if its in piece's to help hold it together it actually works pretty well .

Great finds Wes! Those buttons are sweeeetttt. A buddy is saying I should get a Teknetics T2SE. He says it's a great machine for relics. I've got a MXT Pro now. Any thoughts?

Yeah! Get rid of the MXT Pro and get the T2SE. My worst machine ever was the MXT Pro hands down. It sucked so bad I sold it in three weeks. The T2SE is 1000% better and you will find relics at great depths. It is super light and lighting fast! You will be very happy the day you switch, trust me. Thank you for your reply and comments.

Thanks for the input. I've found some great things with the MXT but it may be time to make a switch seeing how I'm primarily a relic hunter. I tried the Etrac & wasn't comfortable with it. I was offered a deal on a T2 SE with 5 & 11" coils for $799. Maybe it's time to post the MXT on ebay!

That's quite a haul Wes - way to go! BTW, I recently found a chain very similar to the one you show here. What's the story on it?

Glad to see you're getting out and making some nice finds Wes. Between the weather, fields full of hunters, the impending holidays, etc, I haven't been out much at all recently. Hopefully things will improve after the first of the year. Good luck to you.

I've found some great relics with the MXT Pro and really liked it. It's built like a tank! However, it was just way too heavy for me and I sold it. I have the T2SE and the ATPRO (2 of them) - both units are much lighter and just as good, in my opinion.

I agree with you on your artillery button find! I'd take an old button over a coin in a minute. Your pics make me want to get out of the duck blind and start back dirt hunting. Pretty finds!

You gave up on the Etrac? Oh my gracious, I wish you would have contacted me about it. What a great machine you got rid of. She does take time to master but when you do master it, the sky is the limit with her. The way I use my two machines are best explained like this: Think of the T2SE as 1939-1941 German Blitzkrieg. Use it to sweep a field to see what is there and find the hot spots with. Work the iron some and run off the competition with it. Now think of the Allies in 1944-1945 as they mopped up the Germans, that is the Etrac. Bring in the Etrac after youdetermined the field to be worthy of this machines presence lol. Turn her on, run her HOT, open the screen to knock out just iron nails, run it in ferrous mode 2 tone to keep it simple (until you begin to master other tones), glide her over the surface slowly and I will promise you nothing will remain behind especially SILVER. It saddens me that you got rid of your Etrac :sad10:. But the silver lining is that you thinking about the T2SE and that makes me happy again! Good luck and any questions about, give me a PM and we will discuss it further.

Richard, I am thinking artillery or cavalry. Mine was found in a known CSA cavalry campsite.

I didn't buy an e-trac, just borrowed one to try it out. It's a little out of my price range anyways. I think I may give the AT Pro a try, I've heard some good things about it. My buddies rave about the 2 tome ferrous on the e-trac. I think the slower response time was what was tough for me.
