My batteries have been a little low lately.

Not the ATP's, mine. Also, they've been tossing about that four letter word around on the TV again. As if I wasn't feeling low enough, they gotta remind me it's still winter. ;)

Anyway, when I need a bit of a charge I've found that going back to the old mansion helps. I've been hunting it about a year now. So, the finds are few and getting fewer. But that's ok for me. It's more about going to a place where I enjoy being. Even though it's drying up, it ALWAYS gives me interesting things. (or maybe I have a low threshold of interest. :dontknow: )

Here's the overall:

Did I mention? The finds are getting fewer? ;)

5 pieces of lead. I figure modern bullets, except the squashed one.

Don't know what it is but it came with the nails. Pretty deep. I suspect old.

Wish I had the whole car.

ATP's battery fund.

Neat little, (tiny), button. I can make out "GILT" up top. There's a star at about 3-oclock.
There's letters at the bottom but I can't read them. Fair amount of gilt left.

Then, literally, 10 feet from getting in the car:

Still can't figure out how this keeps happening! LOL

Here's what I'm starting with:

I figured, a nickel by size alone.

2014 (13).jpg 2014 (14).jpg

I was right. :)

I'll be trying to clean it up a bit more, but I'm not expecting much.
Still, all in all, a pretty fair day and I do feel a little better.

Thanks for stopping by!

Please tell me Blingy doesn't have you sleeping on the couch..... I know how Blingy gets spoiled and can only imagine what happens when not presented with fresh bling. Try a Red Bull .... I hear it gives you wings ;):icon_thumleft:

What you have there is a case of "winteritus". Blingie understands, after all doesn't he get top pick of all the bling you bring home?
If he doesn't the little tin cup will come in handy, he can bend it back into shape and stand on the corner begging for bling! His little green lips will be whistling a different tune when he realizes just, "How generous you are"!

I think he knows, besides he has enough bling stashed to resupply Fort Knox ! Tell him to wear his sun glasses when he goes into the bling room...you know what happens when he doesn't!

Congrats on your finds and getting out! I haven't quite gotten myself and detector out the door together! Hoping it happens this Sunday! I'm starting to exhibit odd behavior...too many walls, not enough fresh air, TV is starting to get to me!

Here's hoping we all can get out and score some nice finds. The melting hills of plowed snow are calling my name, not to mention the pools of black ice!

Nope, the down side of Red Bull is further down than I started. Not for me.

Blingie? Naw, he hasn't but I almost didn't get back inside my door. ;)

Yep, I'm all for outlawing winter.
Blingie? He's ok, (don't tell him I got a spare set of keys).

Thanks!

Great Finds! Any luck pulling a Date off that Buffalo?

Unfortunately, the nickel just doesn't have enough detail left. I can see what I think is either a 1927 or 1917. Oh well.

At least you found a buffalo. I have been Mding for almost 10 years never found one yet! I have found every type of nickel many times over, even a 1867 with rays shielded. Im not a betting man but what are the odds of that. I probably have a better chance getting struck by lightning. Knock on wood. lol!!
