This is my 8th class ring and when I looked under my 8X loup I see inside it is engraved "10KT and Sterling"... odd. Never had a mixed metal ring. It's a 1934 and it has initials in it, but this person would be 97 or 98 by now. Also no school name on it, just a "C" on the face.

I just updated the post with a picture of the engraving inside. Never heard of rings mixing gold and silver...

beautiful. I love these old class rings, especially the ones like yours that you can see were worn for many years.

I found a similar class ring - Check the near-by towns for a "C". I actually found the WWII Vet that had lost it back in 1943 and got it back to him! Was a great news story.

Yes I'm looking at the towns nearby with "C" name, but some schools, like one in the town I live in use a different letter on their rings that is not the town name. I'll keep plugging away...

Good luck in your search! That would be amazing if the owner was still alive!

MM, all of them have come from area lakes. I first started detecting in 2012 and hunted mostly parks. This was good as I learned the machine and also learned to do area research. All the lakes in my area are man-made, so looked for lakes that are the oldest and started hunting those. Now 99% of my hunting activities are at those lakes. The other thing is that the gold class rings take a lot of digging to find. All the gold ones are 10k; some men's and some women's, but they all could be missed because they could easily be trash. I started finding them when I began to dig everything. I admit I don't always have the energy for that... I hope you get your first soon.

Very nice old gold...

There is a hunter in the Midwest, Chris (GoldinWater) who will travel around the Midwest, find a school, college and hunt the near by lakes, rivers, tracking down the swimming holes. He has had great success over the years digging many old class rings. Looks like you have came across the same type of place he research's n hunts. Good Luck and we look for your next piece of Yellow!
