Hope you all don't mind a double post but I wasn't sure how much traffic is in the relic forum where i originally posted this. But I was walking up a creek and saw a corner of this poking out of the ground. So I dig it up and to my surprise it has some pretty sweet decoration on it.
I have no idea what it is , it looks like a shovel but its obviously a piece some somethingand not a shovel. Why put designs on the bottom.

So what do you think it could be and do you think its old?
Im around Vancouver BC Canada.

Hi Charlie, I have unearthed several and I am told they are legs to pot-belly or wood burning stoves from the Victorian period. Happy Hunting, Sub 8-)

yes I have seen those on stoves. I had a woodstove that had almost the same design on its feet.

Cool find! :notworthy: :icon_thumleft: If you type "parlor woodstove" into Google images, you'll see many ornately decorated stoves & stove legs. The huge utilitarian woodstove we used when renting an old New Mexican adobe house didn't have any of those frills, lol.:tongue3: HAVE FUN! Andi
