My weekend finds..two hunts

1st hunt was a redo area I wanted to get done before warm weather and snakes get out. Wanted to see what I missed using the old Bounty Hunter and wasnt much..some change and a couple relics ..a badge that reads "Fine Olds" and beat up old toy truck and a toasted good luck charm..the change was a quick stop at the grade school Ive pounded yet always seem to find more.


Second hunt yesturday was a new small private property. Scored a International Harvest watch fob, 8 wheats cents, with the oldest being 1935..a 1950 dated play dime, $2.04 in change and a lone 64 Rosie.

NB. Something to think about - they are your finds & you can clean them as you wish but make sure you check the rarity before you do. In this case it makes no difference, but I would hate to see you kill your best find, so for that reason, I'm saying to you; 'be careful'.

Nice silver & finds! That cleaned up great! The last "play money" I found was plastic laying on the ground.

I appreciate it..I didnt care to clean it up. Its not very valuable ither way. I don't sign on to the notion that items dug from dirt have patina. Its corrosion lol. Now if the item was stored in my grandpa's coin box in the dry all these years and had natural patina, I understand..laying in dirt isnt patina ..thats why most coins wont get graded..i have a lot of crusty wheat cents that have to much "patina" but if I was to get them graded they come back "enviromental damage" which was my point. Now if I found a 1914 D wheat or some other rare and valuable coin you would bet I wouldnt touch it.

OK, I understand, but you don't need to send a CSA buckle plate off to be graded & if you clean that, you would give most on here a heart attack.
