Colonial and 1800's finds. Including 1817 large cent, 1700/1800's buttons and more.
These finds are from this past Friday and Sunday. Friday I just went for a couple hours late afternoon after the rain. I went to a known colonial spot in a field. I didn't find much. Just a tombac button, a pretty nice piece of womens jewelry I'm assuming(shaped like a leaf with a flowery design) and the large brass piece I'm unsure of. It has a bit of detail work on the edges and I'm guessing it was some sort of cover to something. Sunday I got out and enjoyed the beautiful weather we were having, but decided to hit a patch of woods that held a bunch of colonial and early 1800's goodies. I hit it pretty good 2 other times before seeing as it was a small area in which the stuff was. I'm thinking it was more a traveling road as opposed to a house site. Just doesn't show any signs of there being a permanent homestead. Anyway I did manage to find several flat buttons, half of a shoe buckle frame, wheat penny some lead and a 1817 large cent in decent shape. I'm sure if I cleared some logs and limbs I'd find a bunch more there. It was nice really just to enjoy the nice weather before it gets cold again this week. The coins and relics were just an added bonus! Thanks for looking and HH!
