Drought May Be Ending - 1897 Barber Dime, 1904 IH & C1830 Flower Button

For the past few months, I've been in the midst of a metal detecting drought. Until today, I hadn't found anything of note, since last November when I found the C1815-25 Militia Waist Belt Plate. Though it hasn't been from lack of effort. New sites I've hunted just didn't produce and my old sites are just that - old and worked out. Anyway, today I decided to hit the old woods that produced so many great finds last summer. Since it's only about 5 minutes from my shop, I've hit it many, many times and signals are far and few between. So my strategy for today was to hit an area that hasn't quite been hit as hard as the other areas, and to concentrate around tree trunks, spots where I had to move fallen branches and twigs and other areas where I might not have searched too hard before. About a half hour into the hunt, I came up with a 1904 Indian Head, then a few buttons, the best being a Circa 1830 Levenworth & Co Superfine with a flower design, and then a little later I was really surprised when an iffy to decent signal produced an 1897 Barber dime. So I guess it's like they say, a place is never totally hunted out.
