Hi everyone, I hope you all are having a great week, and you all are doing good. The past few days that we got out have been so much fun, we are finding some unusual items, this park we are hitting is very large, and has a long history, looks like we will be going back as much as we can!

This post will have lots of pictures, here are our best finds so far!

3-25-14 015.JPG 3-25-14 016.JPG Chug dug these two, he has now found 4 of them, two are broken, and the others are whole! They were used when canning stuff back in the mid 1800's, the milk glass protected food from the metal, preventing food poisoning! 3-25-14 034.JPG 3-25-14 035.JPG 3-25-14 036.JPG I finally found one of my own, with most of it intact, it took me about 20 minutes to dig it up, it was about 6 inches down, and I used my knife to work around it til I could pull it out! I scared Chug when I yelled "I found one! I found one!"

3-25-14 022.JPG 3-25-14 068.JPG 3-25-14 069.JPG Chug dug these two objects, we think the second item is from a wood stove, Chug also dug all this, Chugs First Harmonica Reed >>> 3-25-14 017.JPG 3-25-14 030.JPG 3-25-14 025.JPG 3-25-14 051.JPG piece of a water hose 4 001.JPG 3-25-14 019.JPG walking weather sensor 3-25-14 070.JPG huge square spike, 3-25-14 044.JPG Chug also scored his first ring of the year!
laughing7.gif
He was really lucky the past few days, 3-25-14 026.JPG 3-25-14 027.JPG there are remnants of square nails left in this shoe! 3-25-14 028.JPG LOL that's my Chug! He never did find the horse or other three shoes!
laughing7.gif
He also found this beautiful baby which was several inches down, bottom side up! 3-25-14 011.JPG 3-25-14 012.JPG 3-25-14 013.JPG 3-25-14 058.JPG it's Bascal, they were made in the late 40's early 50's. And the coup de graw, 3-25-14 065.JPG 3-25-14 067.JPG this came up a solid silver tone on his machine, it was screaming so loud I could hear it from at least 15 feet away! The pennies keep on showing up, Chug found a few more Wheaties, I'm also doing good penny wise, usually I don't find much clad.

3-25-14 043.JPG I keep finding ear stretchers, this is my newest one.

3-25-14 045.JPG 3-25-14 046.JPG 3-25-14 031.JPG yep, another spoon, this one is heavy, and from Vietnam! 3-25-14 049.JPG 3-25-14 084.JPG these nails were in a hole along with what looked like a mortar, maybe an old foundation? I also found my oldest spoon yet, this took me a good 15 or 20 minutes to dig out, it is so fragile, and I didn't want to leave any behind! 3-25-14 078.JPG 3-25-14 082.JPG 3-25-14 079.JPG oh, and before I forget, Chug found this little item, 3-25-14 073.JPG 3-25-14 074.JPG someone's crack pipe. And I scored some silver, 3-25-14 038.JPG 3-25-14 039.JPG 3-25-14 096.JPG These are great to carry with you, that way you have a place for your more fragile items!

What a nice assortment of stuff - still at least a month til our weather allows hunting, making me really envious. Those darn canning lids - my house was build in 1960 but the back yard is littered with them - and they sound SO good on my machine. The silver earring is nice - I have rarely seen that style in a stud earring.
