Hello all! I got out for 2 days this weekend with little success. I tried 3 new locations which were all busts. You never know until you look.... My best find was a Maryland cuff button which cleaned up very nice. Unfortunately it is post Civil War but a good find nonetheless. Who knows what it was doing in Northern NC. I also found a nice bridle rosette, a fired 3 ringer (the fields around this site will be next on the list!) and some other miscellaneous items. I have no clue what the BB fixture is. Also unclear on some of the other items. Any insight would be appreciated. It was a beautiful weekend to be out with some good friends & save some history! Thanks for looking & HH!

I like that button. The "Comet" item is the top part to a harmonica. You don't find these near as often as the reeds.

Yeah, I knew what that was but thanks! It's the first one I've found. I can't begin to tell you how many reeds I've dug!

Hey Josh,

I can definitely help you identify one of your items. It is shown in several of your photos. It is round, flat, and has a photo of the Lincoln Memorial on the back side. It's a Lincoln penny!!!! I know this because I dig more of these then anything else. LOL
