Clothing items at new location, colonial through late 1800's.
I have been going to a stonewall lined woods, that I have found out, through metal detecting was a farm from the 1700's-1950's, because I found an 1800's horse driven plow in the middle of a stonewall bordered square of land (Indicates that that part was plowed at some point), chicken vaccine tags from the 1930's-1940's, and oxen shoes. I have found many clothing items including, tombac buttons (1750-1790's),and various buttons from 1810's-1840's. I (Sort of) found a Victorian sash buckle (both parts 200 feet away from each other, by me, and a family member who joined in on a hunt!). A belt buckle (photo here by mistake, I found it at other place). My buttons include, floral back-mark with "London" (1810's-1820's), and embossed flower on front. A "Double Gilt" "All Over" button from, 1810's-1840's, (Found by a family member who joined in on a hunt). One complete 1 1/4'' tombac button (1750's-1790's). One partial tombac button (1750's-1790's). A gilded button with back-marks of a laurel wreath, that breaks for the word, "Gilt", though only a little gilt is left, I do not know the age, but would guess, late 1780's-1810's (I will try to update if I find out any more info). A 1930's overall button. An old lapel pin, with three circles, inside a shield, I would guess 1910's, or 1920's (Need more ID on symbol). A clasp, that holds up a women's socks, with a patent date from 1899 (Patent found! Patent US630034 - Clasp. - Google Patents) (Here is my old post with more info http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/t...1st-1898-buckle-both-hunts-past-two-days.html). An old rivet for leather (Probably horse tack) (No photo). Every find, except one tombac button, has been found around the past month.
Good luck on your next hunt,
