Same park that I nab a .925 large ring last week. This rang 88 on VDI. Pic is when I pulled out from 6" down. No marks but appears brighter than silver when I rub the dirt off. I suspect it just may be Plat. I can say when the sun hit the stone it was mesmerizing. It may be the real deal too. Need to follow up with a jeweler when I get time.

Well keep our fingers crossed for you. With that size stone, if it's platinum and diamond, it would be a really pricey ring. Good luck!

However it turns out I'll be happy either way. Couldn't be more thrilled with the purchase of this ATP after having just got back into the swing of things after a 15 year lull.

It was not uncommon to mount real diamonds in silver in the 1800's. The Gold and Silver marking act was in 1906. I believe your ring is pre 1906 and not marked but made of Sterling Silver. :icon_scratch: Possibly containing a real stone, great find !! :occasion14:Don't get all excited though. I don't want you to be disappointed later. :dontknow: Lots of other things could be at play here. Lots of Foreign/world rings are not marked. Handmade jewelry items are sometimes not marked.. I hope its a real stone in an antique ring that would be epic. :headbang: However if not don't be disappointed its a nice ring !! :icon_thumright:

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

Update. Wife reminded me today of the diamond tester we had bought for our eBay biz. Forgot we had that gizmo... anyways, diamond tested simulated. It's not real, had me fooled, oh well, got to be others out there to find. HH
