I got out yesterday for a little while after work and hit a local spot. Managed a handful of buttons, including what was once a pewter script I button (the face is toast). I dug one of these at this site two years ago that was also very rough.

The best find though was this early Virginia button (VA2c). This is the second style of state button that Virginia authorized. Now hitting the road for work for the next several days to our nations capital - joy - bliss ha ha.

Glad to see you were able to scrounge one more good find from that site Dan. We've been on a Virginia button tear lately with at least 6 between the 2 of us over the last 3-4 weeks. But the one you just found is easily the oldest. Nice find!

Beautiful VA Dan. Always wanted to dig an early one and it just hasnt happened. Glad you still have a site to hit with the fields off limits.

I am sure you will get one in the future. Keep coming down and it will happen. I have dug at least one VA button a year since moving here (two being one pieces (VA1 & VA2)
