Wow, just got home and I'm still in shock! For the past year my buddy (car91rs) and I have been hitting the old city dumpsite and have found some pretty good stuff, from old Mexican coins, of one which was silver to a 1951 Benjamin half dollar, 1943 Walking liberty, 1900 barb half dollar, and a hand full of merc dimes and buffalo nickels, but today.... I have to say my machine proved me wrong. I had traded my T2 Ltd for my AT Gold after it came in defective and was promised that they would give me a new one only for them to tell me they changed the motherboard instead, for a while I was not to happy with the AT Gold and missed my T2, but I did not like the fact that my T2's speaker was super low and needed head phones to listen to it. And Unlike my T2 the AT Gold screams, its lot heavier too.
Well, I can honestly say that I love this machine. I'm still learning it but after a few months I think I'm getting the hang of it.

I was about to give up dirt fishing after a few hrs in this hot sun (100), but I decided to try my new sniper coil. After another hr and no luck I decided to head back to the car and change my coil for the 5x8, still no bites but I did get a cleaner tone. After dropping my cliff bar (energy bar) I gave in to the sun and hunger and started walking to the car. I decided to hit the same path my buddy had been having luck the past few days when I got an iffy tone. I continued to pass my coil slower over the target and noticed that the VDI was coming in at 63-67, so I said what the hell I'll dig it up. At first I didn't see anything but a flat rock. I removed the rock and passed my coil again and the tone came in sweet and loud with a solid VDI of 68. I then began to dig and noticed the gold edge of a coin, at first glance I thought it was probably a Euro coin, it was not until I took my phone out to photograph it that I saw the Indian head. Wow, I instantly knew what I had. I could not believe that my buddy had missed it those couple of days with his G2. Good thing I never gave up on my AT Gold. My Tekentics Delta found me the silver and liberty nickels, my T2 found me more Liberty nickels, but my AT Gold found me the best find of my life, my first Indian head 5 Dollar coin! Loving it!!!!!!! funny thing, I thought it was a 2.5 dollar coin and didn't realize it was a $5 dollar coin until my wife rubbed the dirt of when I kept telling her stop... her response was, "Well it's not a diamond ring" TOO FUNNY!

Sorry guys if I'm over doing it but this was the last thing I ever thought I would find in this place let alone in as little a less then a year into this hobby. I started this hobby last July and thanks to Car91rs, I continued with the hobby and learned a lot from him, "Thanks buddy!" You were right, "Keep your coil to the ground and never turn off your machine while walking back to the car!"

God is Great!
HH, TY

Awesome find. A real beauty.

I always wonder about the people who lost all of these old coins.

Those picture look like a pretty unforgiving environment so you gotta' wonder what someone was doing there. At that time, that was a nice chunk of change and it was probably sorely missed.

Then again, it could have been some wealthy person who never even missed it. You just never know.
