Watching my kid's baseball game yesterday, and was standing next to the bleachers. Ump made a bum call, and I kicked at the dirt. Looked down, and saw a tiny glint of silver where I just kicked. Reached down, and boom!!!

It's marked 14k on the inside, and is made in a custom setting with an "S" under the stone on one side, and an "M" on the other. I'm not 100% sure on the stone. In the bright light, and with it dirty, I thought it was onyx, but cleaned up, it's definately a really dark blue stone. Real dark sapphire maybe?

All of my gold was found without a metal detector, including a huge 14K gold necklace, a 14k gold earring with real diamonds, and many hollow gold earrings.

Awesome find! Beautiful ring! I've always said (well in the last couple of weeks anyways) it's the hunter not the machine!

Any guesses on the stone?

I'll run in the local jewler tomorrow and have them take a look.

Took it by the local jewler today, and he confirmed that it's indeed a 14k ring holding a dark sapphire!

Said he would retail it for about $200 in his store with the custom setting!

Then, he tried to buy the setting from me for $20 in scrap... Lol...
