But, You were lucky you didn't get caught by the park rangers.

It is against Texas law to metal detect in State Parks, and National Park areas in Texas. I know of a couple of guys that the park rangers found detecting on Galveston Island , in the State Park, they got arrested and their detecting equipment confiscated, and also had to pay a fine.

nice finds ! i dont think you can metal detect in the state parks here in west virginia either , i need to do some checking up on the state owned property around here to make sure. Glad you had some luck !
