Took the DFX out to a huge field that's used during the day, almost every day. That works out just fine, because here in NC it's starting to get very hot, especially out in the full sun.
So by the light of the half moon I walked across this field twice in a straight line. This is what I dug up.

The gold ring is CZ. It had me fooled at first. ;)

Cheers!

That ring would have fooled me too. Still a nice ring. :)

Do you use a headlamp?

Bob

No headlamp. Just the Vibra-Probe. When I held that cross up to the moon, it was really pretty. This field is surrounded by woods on three sides, so it's a little creepy at the edges.

Other than the "creepy factor", it's just as easy as daytime detecting.

Great finds! I was kind of thinking about trying after dark sometime. Glad to see you had such a good time with it.

Is that a real opal?

The earing is 925 and the gold ring is CZ. I don't even know what an opal looks like. I wish!!! ;)

The opal I asked about is the stone on the hook looking gold wire thingy. Looks like it could be a real opal. They are beautiful stones.

I like those night hunts, using an LED miners type lamp at night. Congrats on the finds and HH, Mike
