I went on my 2nd detector hunt and found a 1940's bullet with a copper casing made from the Western Cartridge Company but my question is what could the rusty object be?
The casing and the bullet looks like it could be a .45ACP.The hunk of rust does look like the barrel, top strap and cylinder pin to a revolver, whether toy or not hard to say.
Does the long part seem to be hollow? The part that sticks out towards the front kinda seems odd also. Any toy guns I have found have been made out of pot metal or a tin/lead alloy. Was it in the same area as the ammo parts you recovered?
yeah it is hollow pretty heavy is why im assuming it to be iron,it was about 6 yards south of the bullet,James thats what i was thinking it look like a cylinder pin and being hollow in the front makes me think it would have to be a gun just wish I would have spent a little more time investigating the area but im limited to hunting late evening and dark do to work right now.I hope to get some time off in the day to get back to the spot. Thanks for the replys guys I am pretty new to all this just bought the detector a couple days ago but im hooked.
