Fairgrounds = Silvers, LC's, Victorian Padlock and More!

Hi all, I went back to my virgin site were I have now pulled about 50 silvers! I hunted for about 3-4 hours and pulled a 1913 fishie, 1947 and 1949 dime, 1918 quarter, 1920,1919,1917,1907 and 1884 Large Cents, 1926 wheat, 2x1948 cent, 1933 nickel, bullet shell, aluminum ring, and the best find: my first Padlock and its Victorian!!!!!!:headbang: I found it 10 inches down while most targets I find there are 5-7 inches. The video can be viewed on my YouTube Channel.

Sweet finds. I'm still trying to find a really old fairground location here in Nova Scotia. Most locations I know of here have been turned into sub divisions or are just developed in general.

Ya I know, Most of the old places I hunt for the first time just come up with clad or are being developed. I just got lucky with this site.

Ya our fairgrounds were developed with wal mart and every other box store in existence. Probably a ton of old coins in there under all that pavement. I have located a park that is loaded with coins but so far all clad but tons of it and some going back to the early sixties. Am I to assume that Someone hunted it out 45 yrs ago?? Nice finds though. I was actually wondering if our cold winters force coins further down into the ground. After seeing that you are pulling them out of 5 inches I have more hope to find some old ones too. Found 48 coins in an hour and a half yesterday but the oldest was from 1961 and it was a penny.

It's a hard call on what effects the coins depth. Wet muddy areas, dry high areas, cold and ice, tree roots, long grass, bushes, yards, etc. I found 1943 penny at 8 inches and a 1737 one real at 3 inches.

It's rare to come across a spot like that. Hopefully nobody else catches on and you can milk it till it quits giving up anymore milk! Congratulations on some wonderful finds.
