It was 74 degrees today so i figured id hike and hunt a few trails. about a quarter mile in was a small cellar hole where most of my items were found. 3 small buckles were all i found on the trails. This weird push-button cover plate seems almost like silver, it sure shined up pretty nice when i rinsed it off, only traces of black and silver colors, no brown brass that they would silver plate. maybe from a jewelry box, not sure yet. also found a 1911 wheat penny and a 1923 buffalo nickle.

Looks like the old road wagon road behind my home. But it's here in TN. and a "half can" would NOT have protected yourself here. But at least you found something besides horseshoes and chain links. If I EVER found a coin the world would know instantly.... Goood job.

I love hunting places like that...until a kid on a quad comes flying thru at fifty mile an hour....I've been avoiding the woods this time of year here in PA. Ticks, black flies, mosquitos, horse flies...just makes the hunting no fun at all.

Looks a lot like the trails here above my house leading to the old coal mines. I have found a little silver wedding band and parts for a Ford Model T. The gnats are really bad here too. The trails are pretty clean so I wasn't too concerned with ticks even though they are very bad this year. Nice finds!
