I got out after it cooled off this afternoon 3hrs. I had some great finds. The SLQ quarter has been on my bucket find list for a long time. I was so happy to pop that one out of the ground. The funny thing about that find was the hole right before that SLQ find I dug the 1943 quarter. What a great day of treasure hunting. Below is the list of finds I made today Thank you for looking and like always I wish you the best of luck on you treasure hunting adventure.

1927 SLQ Quarter. Bucket list find for me !

1943 Washington Quarter. Great shape !

1925,1935,1941,1951,1956 Wheat's

1943 NewFoundLand One Cent Coin. Cool Find !

Red Ranger JR Toy gun.

The largest shell casings I have ever found. I could make out LC 45 on them. Anymore info would be great as they where in a city and I find that strange due to the size.

$2.26 in clad. AKA Beer Money.

nice finds! Always amazing when you find something from as far away as NewFoundLand. Found a Russian 2 kopek coin LC and that made me wonder. L

impressive and down right cool. in the old days, returning soldiers brought back a lot of coins, of course immigrants as well, then there were the people who came here on vacation way back then. now people fly everywhere for what ever reasons and hopefully they keep leaving cool stuff for people like us to find.

Nice still waiting to find my standing liberty I've been all around it but no luck yet. I've been lucky though I have found a shield nickel and never thought I'd find one of those.

Just speaking up in confirmation... Dig kzoo is correct on your bullet-casing's maker and date... and Steelheadwill got its caliber right (a US .50-caliber Browning Machine Gun bullet's casing). Note that its casing-length is approximately equal to the five pennies he thoughtfully laid side-by-side in his photo, just like in your photo. Nice work, Will. :)

Regarding where your military round was found, I also find it strange how much ordnance is around urban sites. Dozens of .50 cals both practice and live, a dropped 20mm AA round, a misfired 37mm Hotchkiss HE round, a dropped 1898 40 MM UMC HE round, and a live 6lb artillery sabot are some pieces I've recovered within a city with more than 1.3 million inhabitants ???

Congrats on your SLQ. It's a nice one to be able to cross off your list. What I have started doing is adding something new to my list every time I find something to cross off. The other day I found a CW era button which was on my list. I added a petite, 20 year old, stunningly gorgeous Asian girl who loves metal detecting and gets a kick out of digging your holes for you and brings lunch. Put that right up at the top of the list for some reason.
