I went back to the 1924 house on the 1799 homestead that I posted about the other day. On that day, I found a 1943 2 Franc coin from France and assumed a WWII veteran might have lived there at one point, and I confirmed that twice today! All told, the keepers included 2 toasted Buffalo nickels, a 1941 Washington (my first silver quarter), 11 wheats 1914 - 1952, and a few odds and ends. I got an aluminum DAV tag that reads "Postage Guaranteed - Finder Deposit Any Mailbox - Disabled American Veterans - Cincinatti, OH" that was apparently to be put on a keychain so if a veteran lost his keys, they could be mailed back to him free of charge to the sender. Oddly enough, I found a different copper tag intended to be used for the same thing (this one by the North American Accident Insurance Company). I found a HUGE button, about the size of a half dollar that has a cool floral/moon design on it, and some large, decorative piece. I have no idea what it is, but it looks like maybe it came off of the top of a lamp or something?

The coolest thing I found though was what I first thought was a medal of some sort. I posted it on here and it was ID'd as a "Patriotic Homefront" watch fob. One of the guys who ID'd it said it was given as an award or medal, but was unsure for what. Originally, the outer ring on the fob (that reads "USA Prosperous Powerful Peaceful" was enameled red, white, and blue.

The piece you said looks like a lamp part I believe could be a window sash lock pin.

It's entirely possible. Most of my guess came from the fact that one of our butt-ugly lamps has something on top that kind of looks like that, but smaller.

If it is, it's huge! The whole thing is approximately 6" long and seems pretty soft. I'm actually afraid I'm going to break it if I bend it much!

The other side of the DAV tag would have had the owners license plate # on it, like a real mini plate, they came in pairs, at least I think they did. great finds all around!
