After slowing down last week and finding alot of treasure I missed I decided to hit another lot of mine that I swear I hunted out. Without my Pro dont know if I could do this, so much trash in these lots its never silent so the 5x8 helps so much in seperation. Came up with some pretty good finds, 2 silver dimes, a Germany sterling silver ring looks to be maybe from the 20's, 2 silver plated items a pin and ring, tax token, usual wheats, marbles and bullets and casings.also something strange a 1965 bent dime that was tied in the middle of a material bow? Have alot of cleaning to do on my finds, the dirt is so hard on most of my finds.

I feel like I need to buy one of those coils now... I can't afford to though I couldn't afford to buy my AT Pro but did anyways! Haha I got one more semester in college and it's on to the big bucks... Really want to get certified in diving after graduation and hit old rivers hard... Nice finds HH

BIG difference!

Definitely a must if your hunting areas that have 100 years of trash accumulation. Its accurate if you really take the time to learn your machine and the signals and sounds it gives. I would be digging 100's of old bottle caps of lead and aluminum but its that very slight difference that the 5x8 gives me that gives me the go ahead to dig up. Never have put the stock on and I doubt I ever will.

Just keep doing what you can and enjoy while your doing it and sooner than you think you will have what you want. Took me 3 years when I first started 20 years ago saving my clad to upgrade. But just made me appreciate it more, same thing about pin pointers, 18 years hunting without one I feel spoiled hunting with one now, dont know how I did it without one. Lol.

Yeah I still haven't bought one yet either I do alright without one... What's your opinion should I go with the 5 by 8 coil first or a pin pointer? I'm going to buy one or the other in Sept I think. Thanks

Not that you asked me but I would go with the coil. I don't have the 5x8 or a pin pointer but my next purchase will be the 5x8.

Me peronally I would say try the 5x8 I dont think you will be disappointed at all on your decision if you do so. Digging without the pinpointer only helps on your pinpointing techniques also. Good luck on your decision.

sounds good I'll go with the coil. It's cheaper anyways, plus I'll have an excuse to rehit all the sites I'm "detecting out" with the stock coil. Thank you!
