I went on a little hunt on Sunday evening. I hit an old house site, the 1950s house was demolished about 2 years ago.

After hitting the driveway, and front door area, and only finding new clad coins. I went to the side of the lot, next to the woods. The grass looked old, and the ground undisturbed. I got a couple of green '60s cents that had been buried a long time, then a wheatie came up, then another, then a third... so I figured I was in the right area. I got a nice high tone, and it sounded shallow, so I stuck the Lesche in and pulled back, as the ground cracked, I could see a silver dime peeking out! SCORE! That is silver coin #21 YTD.

I also got this Tootsie Toy, it is a '54 Ford Ranch Wagon.... made '55 thru '60. That is my third Tootsie Toy.

Thanks for looking, and good luck.

Like the toy car. It is great that it is intact for the collection. How many of those 21 are large silver?

I got the Deus about 6 weeks ago. These are the silvers that I found using it, plus one more Rosie from last night. (2) halves, (1) 50 centavos and (2) quarters... I guess quarters count as "big silvers".

It's just luck though. I do hunt a good bit, but not in especially good places. It is 5% skill, 95% luck.

Look forward to seeing you soon. GL&HH.

Congrats on the silver Roosevelt dime and Tootsie car. All I ever find are crappy Matchbox cars. So doing some quick math you're finding 1.67 silvers a week with the Deus. That works out to just under 87 a year. I don't call that luck.

I find mostly Matchbox cars too... I have only (3) Tootsies.

As for my silver pace.. I tell people about 1 per week... however, (11) coins in (6) weeks is 1.83 per week (since getting the Deus)... however, I have found (3) in the last (6) days... so, as I learn the machine better, the pace is picking up rapidly... (the last statement is nothing but hype and marketing combined with a healthy dose of wishful thinking)

I hunted for more than (6) hours and Saturday and didn't even find a wheatie. Smittyman and Shovelnose beat up on me something fierce.

You know as well as I do that it is just plain dumb luck... I just happened to stumble upon a couple of good coins, and it makes it look like I am doing better than I am. You find more and better stuff than I do all of the time... remember the little tears streaming down my cheeks when I did not find anything and everyone else did? Yeah, you do.

I like finding the Tootsies when the rubber is still good and the axle hasn't rusted. Congrats on the silver.

found my first tootsie toy today, a truck that didn't survive too well and broke in half. been trying to post the pics but have been having more trouble than normal. it barely had part of one of the axles left but it still looks cool to me
