I found this button in Green County, TN. It looks like an. NC sunburst bottoms. Does anyone know for sure what this is?

What you have is probably a late 18th century Colonial button.

Its a popular sun-burst design and a nice find..

Hello neighbor. Been in a few sites here in Rhea County that have produced dozens of flat buttons. Most of them are plane but on occasion find a fancy or "DANDY" button. Did get lucky and pulled a couple of "Jackson Victory" buttons last fall. They are a great way to give you the general idea of a sites age. Here in TN flat buttons are a bit less common due to the fact we were settled MUCH later than the New England states. Great relic. Congrats.

If you're pulling 18th century stuff out of Tennessee, you're definitely doing something right.

Nice find.

You should put a modern penny or something beside it for scale in a picture. I found a few 18th century dandy buttons but none with a design. They look huge compared to most flat buttons i have. Great find and hit that site hard if you didn't already! :)

The flat button is a little bit bigger than a quarter , but not by much.

Hi ACE350; Nice Find. It is a nice Sunburst One Piece Coat Button circa 1760 - 1790. Shirt buttons were smaller. If you can make out the Makers Mark on the back and any possible lettering on the Front Center Crest. I an then tell you exactly when and where it was made. Its rarity and possible value ok. I await your reply ok. PEACE:RONB

Agreed, late 18th C flat button, could be in the 'dandy' range. But no size reference.
