Went out yesterday with evolution, we detected a baseball field that's next to a 1850's house. Detected for about an hour with no luck, than I get a hit on the at pro. 82 at 8 inches. I dig a deep plug and dig a little more and in the hole is a LC. It's my 3rd this year (the others had no detail). I was very happy to see the date 1800 drape bust LC. My first post this year. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Awesome detail on an old coin? When I have found a large cent they are mostly toasted. The soil must be kinder there. Nice job!

She's a beauty! Congrats on finding one with such nice detail. I always seem to find the other kind, lol.

I love that coin Tony. Sweet detail! She was a deep one. That AT pro sniffed it out for you. That spot might be a good one to go back to in the future. You need to slow down though because I don't like losing our "first good coin found" lunch bet. :laughing7:

Nice 1800 Large Cent..... Not 100% sure of the variety (Many for 1800) but it might be a Sheldon 194, noted for a Fraction bar that is high and closer to the numerator than the denominator. If it is than the Obverse is a1800 over 179 variety, you might be able to see part of the 9 in the first 0, I cannot tell from your photo, if so than 100% ID'd I hope it is, that would be a great addition to anyones collection........ http://www.largecents.net/collection/coinpics/s194.jpg

Always a thrill seeing a huge green disc come out of the dirt!

You got me beat, my oldest Large Cent is 1805! Then again, I have found a French Liard from the 1650's, a 1723 Wood's Hibernia, and a King George II Half Penny.
